Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure that you are properly attired and wearing all required personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Assist with the offloading, unpacking and checking of goods received from our suppliers, and packing these on to the shelves or other assigned areas in our warehouse.

• Keep the stock in the warehouse neat, clean and properly packed on the shelves or pallets, as they are normally stored.

• Assist with the picking of items ordered by customers, whether over the counter by phone or through our sales representatives. Grouping items by order for checking by the Supervisor, and packing into assigned delivery areas.

• Load and off-load Delivery Vans with picked stock items, including batteries as instructed. Accompany the van to off-load items when large orders are being delivered.

• Make deliveries of goods in the absence of an assigned delivery driver.

• Assist with minor repairs and maintenance of the building as directed by the Supervisor from time to time.

• Maintain a safe, orderly, and clean working environment and ensure that at the end of the day the department is ready for the next days work.

• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and guidelines.

• Report any issue that may affect your performance or the performance of the department to your supervisor or senior authority.

• Any other tasks which the Supervisor or the Manager may assign to you from time to time in order to discharge the purpose of the job.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to establish priorities, work independently and proceed with objectives without supervision

• Ability to work as part of a team.

Qualifications and Experience

• 3 CXC subjects (including English and Mathematics) or relevant work experience.

• Willing to work overtime on holidays or weekends, whenever necessary

  
  

• Ability to operate a forklift.
